Origin of the Name: The Legend of the Nine Dragons. It is said that long ago, frequent droughts and floods plagued the mortal world, bringing immense suffering to the people. The Jade Emperor, who governed heaven and earth, was deeply troubled by this and dispatched ten dragons, each with unique skills, to descend to the human realm to control the waters. Thanks to their efforts, the people were spared from further catastrophe. However, the peace did not last. The ten dragons’ water management efforts were obstructed by a white tiger in the mountains, leading to a fierce battle between the dragons and the tiger that brought disaster back to the human world. Enraged, the Jade Emperor ordered the ten dragons to be sealed. As they were being imprisoned in a celestial paradise, one green dragon managed to escape. To clear his companions’ names, the green dragon battled the white tiger for hundreds of rounds. In the end, the green dragon sacrificed its life to subdue the white tiger and transformed into Green Dragon Mountain, standing guard there. The Goddess Guanyin, seeing the nine dragons sealed away and the rains no longer falling, came to teach them. She told them that if they focused their minds, they could return to the heavens during the rare spectacle of the Double Moon and plead their case to the Jade Emperor. Grateful, the nine dragons practiced diligently. Years later, on the night of the Mid-Autumn Festival when the Double Moon appeared and the Heavenly Gate opened, they passed through the Celestial Portal to plead their innocence before the Jade Emperor. Moved by their enduring patience despite their long suffering, the Jade Emperor was astonished and reinstated them to their duty of managing the waters. Upon their return to the human realm, the nine dragons worked tirelessly to bring prosperity, ensuring favorable weather and peace for the people. Having accomplished their mission, the dragons retreated here, hence the name Jiulong (Nine Dragons) Town.

The Legend of the Nine Dragons

The Legend of the Nine Dragons, located within Jiulong Town International Eco-Agricultural Resort, features extraordinarily unique and lifelike stalactites, with the cave ceiling adorned in vibrant, splendid colors. Inside the cave, there are not only formations such as stalagmites, stalactites, stone curtains, stone waterfalls, stone flowers, and lotus pools, each with distinct shapes and postures, but also numerous attractions including the Nine Dragons Flying Waterfall, the Karst Cave Summer Cinema, the Dragon Turtle Bringing Auspiciousness, the Dragon King’s Precious Pillar, the Heavenly Palace Jade Pool, the Sky Glass Observation Deck, the Big Yellow Duck design, the Phoenix Dancing with Dragons, and the Mythical Winged Dragon. Particularly breathtaking is the cave’s “Big and Small Dragon Palaces,” where nine coiling “divine dragons” can be seen with intact bodies and clearly visible scales, leaving visitors in awe.

Agricultural Culture Park

Covering an area of over 200 acres, this is an ecological picking and sightseeing leisure park that combines eco-flower viewing, eco-vegetable and fruit planting, agricultural tourism, leisure picking, science education, and agricultural culture.

Across the vast land of the Yingxi Peak Forest, a variety of fruits and vegetables are grown for visitors to experience picking. These include sweet potatoes, peanuts, sweet potato leaves, green beans, corn, snow peas, Chinese cabbage, cherry tomatoes, lettuce, bitter melon, watermelon, mulberry leaves, and potatoes, among others. In addition to produce, flowers such as spider flowers, rapeseed flowers, and sunflowers are also planted for added enjoyment.

Colorful Flower Field

As a gentle breeze blows, the fragrance of flowers wafts through the air. Following the scent into the flower field, you’ll find vast expanses of yellow, red, pink, purple, and other colorful blooms basking in the sunlight and swaying in the wind, forming a mesmerizing sea of seven hues.

Peak Forest Lotus Lake

Spanning over 300 acres, Lotus Lake is surrounded by dense and uniquely shaped peak forests, making the reflection of the peaks in the water one of the best photography spots in the park. With varieties such as summer lotus, fragrant water lilies, and giant water lilies, the lake is especially beautiful in midsummer when the lotus leaves are lush and the fragrance fills the air.

Thousand Soldiers Peak Forest

Thousand Soldiers Peak Forest is renowned for its peaks all leaning uniformly eastward, showcasing a rare sense of majestic power and beauty within similar landscapes. The ethereal mist stirs the imagination, making the peaks appear like a myriad of soldiers leaping forth in the haze, with the faint sounds of war drums and surging crowds seemingly audible. “Thousand Soldiers Peak Forest” is less a specific scenic spot and more the unique backdrop of the Jiulong countryside in Yingxi.

The First Boat on the Peak Forest

Located by the Peak Forest Lotus Lake in Jiulong Town, this over 50-meter-long and 8-meter-wide structure is the first large boat-shaped leisure vessel in Jiulong Town and even the entire Yingxi Peak Forest region. Its unique design style is instantly eye-catching, earning it the title “The First Boat on the Peak Forest.”

Peak Forest Farmhouse

Peak Forest Farmhouse is situated within Jiulong Town International Eco-Agricultural Resort and features a distinctive bamboo hut decor style.

The serene environment fully embodies the wisdom and simple folk customs of the Hakka people. Using traditional rural eight-immortal tables as dining surfaces, the farmhouse employs rustic cooking methods with farm-style big woks, filling the air with the aroma of woodfire and offering guests an authentic taste of genuine farmhouse cuisine. It can accommodate over 70 tables and more than 600 diners at once.

Suspension Bridge

This is the first iron cable suspension bridge in the Yingxi Peak Forest area, built with significant investment. Stretching 60 meters in length and 4 meters in width, the suspension bridge spans the Sukeng River (a tributary of the Shuibi River), connecting the two banks of the Agricultural Culture Park and Jiulong Town. Surrounded by green mountains reflected in the water, the scenery on both sides resembles a hundred-mile painting.
