Qingyuan Feilai Temple

Qingyuan Feilai Temple is located in Qingyuan City, Guangdong Province, at the Xiao Sanxia (Little Three Gorges) area of the Beijiang River. Legend has it that the temple flew here from Anhui, hence its name “Feilai” meaning “Flown Here.” It is said that the temple existed as early as the year 520 during the reign of Emperor Wu of Liang, and after continuous restoration, expansion, and improvement, it became one of the three great ancient temples in Lingnan.

On May 8, 1997, the temple was destroyed by a flood caused by heavy rain, but it was later rebuilt and completed in May 2004.
