Jinxia Chan Temple is located on the hiking trail at the boundary between the “Two Xia” (Feixia and Cangxia), standing in a triad with Feixia and Cangxia, and is known as the “Peach Blossom Village.” The temple grounds are filled with peach and plum blossoms, creating a unique charm with lines like “Peach blossoms bear fruits through the ages, and the winding stream embraces the village for miles.”

As a summer retreat and tourist destination set against a backdrop of natural scenery and cultural landscapes, with religious significance, it is renowned for its ancient, unique, and beautiful style. In addition to the seventy-two peculiar peaks and the clear gorge rivers, there is also a grand complex of ancient architecture consisting of the Flying Temple, Cangxia Cave, Feixia Immortal Taoist Temple, Jinxia Chan Temple, and Yuxia Mountain Pavilion, covering a total area of 52,000 square meters. Towering ancient trees and majestic historic buildings create a picturesque scene—truly “a scenic wonder of the south, with historic sites all over the gorge mountains.” Scattered along the gorge river are ancient sites such as the Rhinoceros Pool, White Bubble Pool, Bell Pool, Green Still Bay, Han Yu’s Boat Mooring Spot, Su Dongpo’s Fishing Rock, White Sand Islet, as well as the Imperial Son’s Reading Cliff, Qin General’s Carp-Fishing Platform, Zhongsu Tidal Stone, Ge Altar’s Alchemy Stone, Bodhidharma’s Scripture-Discussing Stone, Lion Stone, Returning Ape Cave, and Harmony Cave—each with its own fascinating story and beautiful legend.
