Known as the "No. 1 Drift in South China" and the "Most Thrilling Drift in Southern Guangdong," Xuanzhen Drifting is hailed as a classic of China’s “Hometown of Drifting.” Nestled among vast mountain ranges, it is the most conveniently accessible self-drive drifting destination in Qingyuan, just a 10-minute drive from the city center. It is world-renowned for its five spectacular features: "clear water, turbulent waves, unique rocks, perilous mountains, and dense forests." The 15-square-kilometer catchment forest area is home to rivers that are incredibly pure, powerful, and wild, carving through rocks and cliffs with unmatched majesty. With an irregular 268-meter giant drop, it fully showcases a king-like presence. As an ancient poem goes, "It gathers waters from hundreds of streams and swallows the grandeur of mountains and rivers"—a vivid depiction of Xuanzhen Drifting. Surrounded by mountains, dotted with emerald pools, and scattered with peculiar rocks and vines like stars in the sky, the valley features continuous cliffs and gorges. After being meticulously upgraded by top international rafting experts, it made a powerful debut in 2010: the ultimate "Six-Upgraded" course, truly extraordinary. The 4.3-kilometer premium thrilling course features 128 wave peaks, plus an 800-meter newly upgraded high-speed "Water Dakar" course. Its breathtaking mountain valleys have also been dubbed the "Colorado of the East." As the main venue for two National Natural Waterway Rafting Championships, Xuanzhen Drifting, with its absolutely pristine river resources, won the titles of “Qingyuan Industry Champion,” “Best Drift in Qingyuan,” “Top 100 County-Level Tourism Brand Attractions in China,” “Most Popular Self-Drive Destination in Guangdong Province,” and more in 2007. In November of the same year, it was awarded the “National AAAA-Level Tourist Attraction” by the China National Tourism Administration, becoming the first AAAA-level drift attraction in China. In 2009, it was further honored as the only “Most Attractive Drift Destination” on the Guangdong Tourism Overall Ranking. With such remarkable achievements, it's no wonder there's a popular saying: "Xuanzhen Drifting moves the world."

Xuanzhen Ancient Cave is located on the north side of Qingyuan County. The 4.3-kilometer-long river course offers a romantic night drift lasting about 120 minutes, the first of its kind in Guangdong. It combines mystery and thrill, making it perfect for adventurous young people.

Boasting reputations such as the “Most Extreme Drift in Southern Guangdong” and the “No. 1 Drift in South China,” Xuanzhen Canyon Drifting stretches 4.3 kilometers with over 60 drops along the course, the largest exceeding 100 meters. The thrill begins right at the starting point where a sudden drop greets you with an oncoming rush of water, catching you completely off guard.

In 2005, Xuanzhen Drifting, as the most representative drift in Qingyuan, was designated as the main venue for the “National Natural Waterway Rafting Championship” and the awarding site for the title of “Hometown of Drifting in China.”

Xuanzhen Drifting is Qingyuan’s most distinctive and fully equipped drift site, and the closest to the city center. It is also the only place in Guangdong where both daytime and nighttime drifting are available. The 4.3-kilometer river course combines the characteristics of five types of canyon rapids: Warrior Drift, Adventure Drift, Spiral Drift, Speed Drift, and Waterfall Drift. It allows visitors to experience the excitement and joy of various types of rafting all in one go. Another highlight of Xuanzhen Drifting is its crystal-clear water, which originates from mountain streams and dense forests. The riverbed consists of natural rocks, unlike other drifting sites where the water tends to be murky. Coupled with the scenic views of water, sky, and mountains along the way, visitors can truly feel the harmony and closeness to nature, and enjoy the boundless fun of immersing themselves in the great outdoors.
