Taoyuan Scenic Area

Qingyuan Taoyuan Ecotourism Area, located in Qingxin County of Qingyuan City—known as the backyard garden of the Pearl River Delta—is spread across nearly 5,000 acres. Characterized by karst landforms, the area boasts beautiful lakes and mountains, dense and lush forests with a coverage rate of 95.6%. It is the most concentrated natural ecotourism scenic area in Guangdong, featuring landscapes such as mountains and waters, peach blossoms, caves, and rafting. The area retains a pristine ecology, with spring-like weather all year round. Its average temperature is 3–5°C lower than that of the Pearl River Delta, and the air is fresh with up to 200,000 negative ions per cm². Perennial mist gives it the appearance of a heavenly paradise or a utopia—a perfect habitat for over 1,000 species of plants including peach blossoms and osmanthus.

Qingyuan Taoyuan features four major functional zones: Peach Blossom Lake, Shuiyunjian (Water-Cloud Stream), Swallow Rock, and Peach Blossom World. The 2,800-acre Peach Blossom Lake contains 16 uniquely shaped peach blossom islands that complement one another, resembling 16 maidens wearing floral crowns and bathing in the lake—dubbed the “heavenly realm of water, mountain, flowers, and maidens.” The 2.8-kilometer-long Shuiyunjian rafting course, along with the elevated Shuiyunjian plank walkway, offers an ideal setting for braving the rapids and enjoying the wild outdoors. There are more than 20 large natural limestone caves, interconnected across an area of over 100,000 square meters. Tens of thousands of golden swiftlets nest on the cave walls, giving rise to the name Swallow Rock. With its towering stalactites and peculiar rock formations, it's known as the “mysterious and marvelous cave heaven, a stalactite fairyland.” The echoing sounds of cave music are especially breathtaking, earning it the title of “the finest cave music experience.” In 1981, Swallow Rock was listed among China’s scenic spots in the Scenic Spots of China overview published by the China Tourism Press.

The scenic area also includes key attractions such as Peach Blossom Isle, Peach Blossom Mountain, Chaoyang Cave, Yuanxi Path, Love Trail, Osmanthus Stairs, Peach Blossom Source, and Deyue Pool, as well as recreational activities like couples’ rafting, brothers’ rafting, stream tracing, paintball clubs, off-road vehicle parks, tree climbing, Bishuixi Stream, and rock climbing. Supporting facilities include dining, shopping, and accommodation venues such as Shidongtian Restaurant, Taoyuan Pavilion, Yanshan Tea House, Osmanthus Pavilion Mall, farmhouse eateries, Taoyuan Residence, and Qinglin Garden.

Qingyuan Taoyuan is a sacred site of love and connection culture. Here, visitors can enjoy flowers, explore nature, go on adventures, and take vacations, while also sharing the joy of kinship, friendship, and romance with family, friends, and loved ones. It is a blessed and commemorative destination for these bonds. The scenic area organizes a variety of unique love-themed prayers and performances. Visitors can participate by tying “peach blossom knots,” locking “heart-shaped locks,” or hanging “peach wood branches,” leaving behind their heartfelt wishes and experiencing the most genuine and beautiful love culture. They may even encounter their lifelong romance here.

Qingyuan Taoyuan is Guangdong’s largest peach blossom-themed ecotourism experience area. Every January and March, peach blossoms bloom abundantly across the landscape; from June to August, peaches ripen, filling the air with sweetness. The Peach Blossom World is a “peach blossom love haven and rural playground.” Centered around peach blossoms, peaches, and peach wood, the scenic area provides supporting services for a series of love-themed activities, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in a love culture inspired by peach blossoms and natural mountain-water scenery all year round. It feels like a small society tucked away in a corner—a kingdom of peach blossoms.
