Former Residence of Shen Lanting

The former residence of Shen Lanting is a cultural tourism attraction.

The former residence of Shen Lanting is located in Liantang Village, Xinlian Village Committee, Heyun Town, Qingxin County, Qingyuan City. Built in the Ren Shen year of the Tongzhi era (1872), it has a history of over a hundred years. The structure consists of an upper hall room, wing rooms, a courtyard, the main gate, a front yard, and an outer side gate, all connected together. It features a post-and-lintel style beam frame with carved decorative panels.

Shen Lanting served as an advisor to Wu Guangliang, who held the titular rank of Taiwan Governor-General during the Qing Dynasty. He was the highest-ranking civilian official among the Qingxin County personnel stationed in Taiwan, accompanying the renowned anti-Wokou general Wu Guangliang (a native of Yingde, Qingyuan, who served as Garrison Commander of Funing and Zhangzhou, eventually attaining the titular rank of Governor-General, second class) during his deployment in Taiwan.

Heyun Town: Heyun Town is located in the central part of Qingxin County, governing 32 village committees and 4 community residential committees, covering a total area of 433.62 square kilometers with a population of 106,345. The town boasts abundant tourism resources and has successively developed the Fengyun Resort, Tianhu Ecological Tourism Scenic Area, and Bisha Zhou Tourism Scenic Area. Its traditional bamboo cage handicraft products are exported to Southeast Asia and the Hong Kong and Macao regions. The Heyun Industrial Park is divided into four industrial zones: Lutian, Huangtian, Dadunping, and the market town zone, covering a total area of 20,000 mu.
