Nanshui Hunting Ground

Introduction: Located by Nanshui Lake, 16 kilometers southwest of Ruyuan County, this is a natural hunting ground. The reserve features 11 hills of varying sizes, covering an area of over 10,000 acres. The highest hill stands about 200 meters tall and is covered with various shrubs such as pine trees, tung trees, and bamboo—making it an ideal spot for hunting wild boars and other wildlife. The hunting ground is surrounded by beautiful lake and mountain scenery. While hunting, you can enjoy the scenic mountain views and even spend a day with the Yao people in their forest homes.

Nanshui Lake is actually the Nanshui Reservoir, with a surface area of 38 square kilometers and a water storage capacity of 1.25 billion cubic meters. It is a large earth-filled dam reservoir, which is rare in the world. Transportation: Take a bus from Shaoguan Station to Ruyuan Yao Autonomous County, then transfer to a local vehicle to Nanshui Lake. A 30-minute boat ride from the reservoir will take you to the hunting ground, with beautiful scenery along the way.
