The county has a total planting area of 25,000 mu, producing 1,000 tons of camellia oil annually, with an annual output value exceeding 50 million yuan.

Ruyuan Camellia Oil is rich in unsaturated fatty acids, accounting for 83% to 95%—the highest among all edible plant oils. This includes oleic acid (74%–87%), linoleic acid (7%–14%), and linolenic acid (0.2%–0.8%). The raw materials are harvested from pollution-free organic farms and processed through steps such as shelling, sun-drying, crushing, pressing, and filtering to extract the oil. The entire process uses physical methods only, ensuring the full release of the oil’s natural components. Meanwhile, modern physical purification techniques—including water degumming, physical decolorization and deodorization, low-temperature crystallization, and winterization filtration—are employed to refine the oil without adding any chemical substances. The product adheres to strict production management standards, with cultivation, harvesting, pressing, refining, filling, packaging, and transportation all meeting organic food criteria. A full “from seed to table” supply chain quality control system is also in place to ensure meticulous management from the very beginning.

Ruyuan Camellia Oil is produced using a low-temperature physical pressing method, which ensures that the various functional components beneficial to human health in the oil remain undamaged, preserving its natural and original quality. This cold-pressing technique prevents the formation of carcinogenic substances such as benzo[a]pyrene and acrylamide right from the source. The crude oil obtained through low-temperature physical pressing is of high quality and only requires physical refining processes such as water degumming, decolorization and deodorization, and freeze filtration to meet the national first-grade camellia seed oil (pressed) edible standards—while maximizing the retention of the oil’s original color and flavor.

Currently, the main producers of Ruyuan Camellia Oil include: Guangdong Baohua Agricultural Technology Co., Ltd., Ruyuan Yao Autonomous County Yunwushan Camellia Planting Professional Cooperative, and Ruyuan Yao Autonomous County Benyukang Breeding and Farming Professional Cooperative.
