Introduction

Tongtianluo Underground Forest is adjacent to Nanling National Forest Park and located 16 kilometers from the Daqiao exit of the Beijing-Zhuhai Expressway. It features karst landforms characterized by relatively gentle mountains with elevations between 600–800 meters. The rocks here are unique, exposed, and have poor water retention. Geologically, Tongtianluo is called a sinkhole, formed by the collapse of caves or the erosion of surface water into underground limestone.

Tongtianluo vertically extends 90 meters underground, with a crater opening diameter of 73 meters, a maximum bottom diameter of 140 meters, and a circumference of 450 meters at the base. The terrain resembles an upside-down pot—high around the edges and low in the center. Numerous towering trees grow at the bottom of the pit, including both coniferous and broadleaf species that grow tall and slender. Many trees have diameters of only about 20 centimeters but reach heights of over 30 meters. Beneath the trees grow shade-tolerant low shrubs, and the ground is covered with herbaceous plants, making it a world wonder. Ticket/Opening Hours: 10 RMB/adult
