Attraction Introduction

The Ruyuan Yunmen Gorge Scenic Area is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction, situated in the homeland of the world’s Yaoshan Yao people, within Ruyuan Yao Autonomous County, Guangdong Province. Along with the renowned thousand-year-old Yunmen Temple, it is one of two premium tourism projects within the Yunmen Temple Buddhist Culture Eco-Protection Zone. The scenic area features towering peaks, fresh air, and forest vegetation coverage of up to 89.3%. With murmuring streams flowing through the forest year-round, the natural environment is pristine and beautiful, making it an ideal place for rafting, team building, paintball, leisure tourism, stream tracing adventures, and prayer gatherings.

Yunmen Gorge Rafting is one of the flagship activities of the Yunmen Gorge Scenic Area. Leveraging the blessings of the Yunmen Temple site and abundant forest water resources, Yunmen Gorge Rafting is considered top-tier among rafting experiences, earning the reputation of “China’s Number One Zen Rafting.” Visitors board rafts deep in the canyon and descend along a crystal-clear river rushing from the forest, navigating a 268-meter drop over a 3.8-kilometer course. It offers a thrilling, majestic experience—like the triumphant return of a king, full of a conquering spirit.

Special Notes

1. Individuals with mental illness, heart disease, high blood pressure, epilepsy, as well as those who are drunk, pregnant, under 1.2 meters tall, or over 60 years old, are not allowed to participate in rafting activities.

2. Rafting is a water sport that will get you completely wet. Before rafting, please store valuables (such as mobile phones, cameras, jewelry, watches, keys, cash, etc.) to avoid loss or damage from water, and keep your locker key safe.

3. When rafting, please wear your helmet and life jacket properly, pay attention to the channel guide signs, read the rafting instructions before boarding, and follow the staff’s arrangements.

4. Before entering the slide channel, place your paddle correctly, straighten your legs, grip the safety rope tightly, sit firmly, and never let go or stand up—this ensures a safer experience of the thrill of speed.

5. During the rafting process, do not remove your helmet, life jacket, or shoes. Do not hand over rafting equipment to others or discard it casually. Leaving the raft to play or venturing into dangerous areas alone is strictly prohibited to avoid accidents.

6. During the rafting process, if injuries occur to yourself or others due to improper operation (such as not holding the safety rope when entering the slide, sitting on the edge of the raft, pulling the raft together, standing up in rapids, or other dangerous actions), or if caused intentionally, you will be responsible for the consequences.

7. To ensure visitor safety, the bringing of fragile glass containers and flammable or explosive items into the river channel is strictly prohibited.
