Guangdong Tianjing Mountain National Forest Park is located in the northwest of Ruyuan Yao Autonomous County, Guangdong Province. National Highway 323 runs through the service area of the forest park, which is 33 kilometers from Ruyuan County. It is a mountainous natural scenic area. Tianjing Mountain gets its name from the “Heavenly Well,” a perennial pool atop its main peak.

The total area of Tianjing Mountain Forest Park is 5,593 hectares, featuring 68 peaks over 1,000 meters above sea level, including the main peak Tianjing, known as the Roof of Guangdong, which stands at an elevation of 1,705 meters. The park boasts the wonder of subtropical montane dwarf forests and high-quality ecological surroundings, with multiple forest layers, diverse plant types, and a rich variety of flora. It is also one of the regions in Guangdong with the highest density and most representative distribution of wildlife. The park offers a wealth of high-quality forest landscapes. Tianjing Mountain serves not only as an important site for scientific research, science education, and student summer camps but also as a prime destination for summer retreats, exploration, sightseeing, leisure, and vacation. Major attractions include primeval forests, montane dwarf forests, the Chinese spectacle “Cloud Brocade Azalea,” the Roof of Guangdong, ancient roads from the Qin and Han dynasties, underground cave systems, Jianfeng Ridge, Gangyang Rock, Spring Lake, ecological corridors, the Heavenly Buddha, Xihua Temple, and Apo Temple, among others. Among these is a lesser-known gem — the Yuehuang Science and Technology Eco-Park Leisure Resort.

Yuehuang Science and Technology Eco-Park is located on Xin Qiao Mountain within Tianjing Mountain National Forest Park, with the ruins of Xihua Temple situated inside the park. Leveraging the excellent ecological environment of Tianjing Mountain’s forests, the park operates as an agro-science and technology eco-park integrating scientific research, science education, and leisure vacation. Its main activities include the breeding, planting, and processing of Chinese forest frogs (snow frogs), stone frogs, insect feed, high-quality mountain chickens, stream ducks, organic fertilizers, and green wild vegetables, as well as offering leisure vacation services and farmhouse-style dining. It's a great spot for independent travelers.

I. Transportation Tips: Take National Highway 323 from the Ruyuan exit of the Beijing–Hong Kong–Macao Expressway to Luoyang Town, Ruyuan (32 km), then continue to the Tianjing Mountain Forest Park Service Area (2 km). Make a left turn in front of Tianjing Mountain Yunjin Mountain Villa and drive 9 kilometers and 700 meters to reach the main gate.

II. Self-Guided Tour Route Guide: For a two-day trip, on the first day explore the Agro-Science and Technology Eco-Park (stay in the park’s wooden cabins; backpackers may camp nearby, but don’t miss the park’s original ecological cuisine). On the second day, head to the Roof of Guangdong (1,705 meters above sea level) within Tianjing Mountain National Forest Park, or visit the Ecological Corridor (backpackers can climb Niubei Ridge for sightseeing, photography, and hiking the Qin-Han Ancient Road).
