Guangdong Ruyuan Nanshui Lake National Wetland Park is a national-level wetland park.

Guangdong Ruyuan Nanshui Lake National Wetland Park is situated in the southwestern part of the county, with a geographical layout that forms a narrow corridor extending from south to north. It generally includes the lakeside highway of Nanshui Lake and the catchment area of the first mountain ridge surrounding the lake. The park stretches about 10.0 kilometers east to west and 18.7 kilometers north to south, with a planned total area of 6,283.7 hectares. It features a composite wetland ecosystem composed of riverine wetlands, lacustrine wetlands, marsh wetlands, and forests. This ecosystem is fairly typical and representative within China and holds significant scientific value in terms of water resource conservation, wetland science, ecology, biology, and geology.

The Nanshui Lake wetland serves as an important ecological barrier in northern Guangdong. It boasts diverse vegetation types and rich biodiversity, with over 2,400 plant species, including 35 nationally protected rare and endangered plant species. There are 438 species of wild vertebrates and more than 3,000 species of invertebrates, among which 34 are under national protection.

The establishment of the Nanshui Lake Wetland Park Management Office helps better protect the high water quality and abundant water volume of Nanshui Lake, safeguards the wetland resources and biodiversity of the area, ensures the ecological security of the Pearl River Basin and northern Guangdong, and maintains the overall ecological safety and biodiversity of the Pearl River Basin.
