Stele of Master Daci Yun Kuangsheng Hongming

The Stele of Master Daci Yun Kuangsheng Hongming is a cultural relic protection unit of Guangdong Province.

Five Dynasties, Ruyuan — Stele of Master Daci Yun Kuangsheng Hongming of the Great Han Shaozhou Yunmen Mountain Da Jue Chan Temple, located within Yunmen Temple in Ruyuan Yao Autonomous County. Carved in the seventh year of the Dabao era (964) during the Southern Han of the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period. The stele stands 2.6 meters high, 1.3 meters wide, and 0.22 meters thick, made of limestone. The haloed top features relief carvings of two dragons and a square seal in seal script, inscribed with the 20-character title “Stele of Master Daci Yun Kuangsheng Hongming of the Great Han Shaozhou Yunmen Mountain Da Jue Chan Temple.” The main text is engraved in intaglio regular script, totaling 3,433 characters, documenting the life of Yunmen’s founding patriarch Master Wenyen, the posthumous title conferred by the Southern Han king, and the temple’s elevated status, among other details. Authored by Chen Shouzhong. The full text of this stele was compiled in Volume on Stone Inscriptions of the Guangdong General Gazetteer by Ruan Yuan in the Qing Dynasty.

In June 1989, the People's Government of Guangdong Province designated the Southern Han stele at Yunmen Temple as a cultural relic protection unit.
