Tomb of Liu Tianxi

The Tomb of Liu Tianxi is a cultural tourism attraction.

The Tomb of Liu Tianxi is located at the summit of Xiachun Ridge, below Jiuxianzhai in Hougongdu Town, Ruyuan County. Built during the Southern Song Dynasty, the tomb is constructed from stone blocks. Oriented toward the northeast, it covers an area of approximately 200 square meters. Liu Tianxi, courtesy name Mengzheng and art name Dongqi, was originally from Qingjiang, Jiangxi. A demoted official during the Southern Song, he served as a judicial officer in Shaoguan. In the third year of the Qiandao era (1167) of the Song Dynasty, he established the county seat of Ruyuan at Yutang and concurrently administered county affairs for four years. In the seventh year of the Qiandao era, Zhou Shunyuan, prefect of Shaoguan, bestowed upon him a plaque inscribed with “Pioneer of Ruyuan.”
