Heyuan Jiulong Bay Rafting

Jiulong Bay is adjacent to Qingshan Lake and located along the Dongjiang River’s upper reaches, stretching from the Fengshuba Hydropower Station to Lizui Town, covering a total distance of 13 kilometers. The river winds into nine bends, each forming a bay with its own dragon pool. Flowing downstream in sequence, they are: Tianlong Pool, Yinhe Pool, Bailong Pool, Zilong Pool, Huanglong Pool, Tiandi Pool, Qinglong Pool, Chilong Pool, and Jinlong Pool. Legend has it that over 2,200 years ago, Zhao Tuo, a great general of the Qin Dynasty, led an army of 300,000 to conquer the Baiyue tribes. The Jade Emperor sent nine divine dragons to protect Zhao Tuo’s forces during their southern campaign. After Zhao Tuo pacified the Baiyue, the nine dragons, enchanted by the area’s breathtaking scenery, petitioned the Jade Emperor for permission to reside here. Thus, the place was named Jiulong Bay (Nine Dragons Bay).

Along the banks, you’ll find spectacular sights such as the Dragon Stream Waterfall, Marble Fairy Forest, General Rock, Immortal Ditch, and Lion Lying on the River, all of which are truly enchanting. Under the blue sky and white clouds, amidst the green mountains and clear waters, drifting downstream in a small boat, going with the flow, offers a carefree and leisurely experience. The water in Jiulong Bay is neither too fast nor too slow, and comprehensive safety measures are in place, making it suitable for both men and women of all ages. The rafting route starts from the river surface below the Fengshuba Hydropower Station dam and ends at Jinlong Beach in Lizui Town.
