The Dinosaur Egg Fossil Exhibition Hall is located within the City Museum, situated at the foot of Guifeng Mountain by the Dongjiang River. A total of 109 nests and 1,068 dinosaur eggs have been excavated in the urban area of Heyuan, with the largest egg measuring up to 22 centimeters in diameter. These dinosaur egg fossils have three notable characteristics: first, they were found in concentrated clusters; second, they come in large, medium, and small sizes, ranking second in both variety and quantity nationwide, only after Xixian in Henan; third, they are distributed with those on the east side of the Dongjiang River exposed and those on the west side deeply buried. All the fossils date back to the late Cretaceous period, approximately 65 million years ago.
