The former site of the Mudjin Township Brigade Headquarters of the Anti-Japanese Vanguard is located in Mudjin Village, Puqian Town, Yuanzhou District, Heyuan City.

In early 1939, members of the “Anti-Japanese Vanguard” including Lin Yaozu, Cen Bingwei, Zhou Kuangren, Li Guo, Yu Hui, Kong Qingyu, Liang Yu, and Zhang Ziguang went to the nearby Mudjin Township to carry out activities. Located at the junction of Heyuan, Zijin, and Boluo counties, Mudjin Township had over 400 households and a population of more than 3,000, making it a relatively densely populated area with a certain mass base. The “Anti-Japanese Vanguard” conducted anti-Japanese propaganda through speeches, theatrical performances, slogan writing, cartoon drawing, and wall newspaper postings. They successively recruited Huang Weichu, Huang Ping, Liu Hua, Chen Ying, Huang Jianliang, Huang Linfu, Huang Jinming, and others to form the “Mudjin Township Brigade of the Anti-Japanese Vanguard,” electing Huang Weichu, Huang Ping, and Liu Hua as leaders. The brigade headquarters displayed couplets promoting resistance against Japan. After the establishment of the Mudjin Township Brigade Headquarters, they actively mobilized progressive young farmers to join the anti-Japanese cause, igniting local enthusiasm for resisting Japan and saving the nation. The Mudjin Township Brigade of the Anti-Japanese Vanguard quickly grew to several hundred members, and their area of activity expanded to the Shuidong area of Zijin County.

This former site is an old residential house belonging to villagers, has not been maintained for years, and is not included in any protected heritage sites.

Puqian Town: Puqian Town is located at the southern end of Yuanzhou District, Heyuan City. It borders Linjiang Town of Zijin County to the east, Shibei Town of Boluo County to the south, Guishan to the west, and Yuannan Town to the north.

It governs 16 administrative villages—Hebei, Yangzipeng, Nanpi, Shuangtou, Zhongtian, Chiling, Liantangling, Pingwei, Puqian, Shangcun, Gaowei, Beijiao, Gaopu, Datang, Mudjin, and Luotang—and one market town community.
