The Jiesheng Garrison Town Ruins is a cultural tourism attraction.

The ruins of Jiesheng Garrison Town are located at the site of the current Jiesheng Town Government. In the 27th year of the Hongwu reign during the Ming Dynasty (1395), Commandant Liang initiated the construction of Jiesheng Garrison Town. It was rebuilt in the 12th year of the Wanli reign (1584). The site was originally called "Jielangpu." At the end of the Yuan Dynasty, a battle took place here that completely wiped out the "foreign pirates." To celebrate the victory, the "garrison town" built in the early Ming Dynasty was named "Jiesheng Garrison Town." The town site is an irregular quadrilateral in shape, covering an area of 162,300 square meters, with 440 battlements and gates to the east, west, south, and north, as well as four watchtowers. Most of the city walls were built with lime-sand rammed earth, while the sections near the four gates were constructed with large square bricks. The town originally housed structures such as the "Garrison Office," "Pacification Bureau," and "Historical Records Hall." During the Ming and Qing dynasties, it was guarded by troops dispatched from Jieshi Wei. The town is located by the shore, with the vast South China Sea to the west and Guiling Island just 1 nautical mile to the south, making it one of the important military and coastal defense strongholds in eastern Guangdong. In November 1927, most of the city walls were demolished, and only a corner on the northeast side remains today. It provides physical evidence for the study of Haifeng’s history and military coastal defenses.

The town covers an area of approximately 52 square kilometers, with a coastline stretching 12 kilometers. It comprises 14 administrative villages, 4 communities, and a total of 35 natural villages. The current total population is 53,220, including 41,951 agricultural residents, 4,584 fishing industry residents, and 6,685 non-agricultural residents.
