Bayanhua Water Park is located in Bayanhua Town, Ar Horqin Banner, Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia, 36.3 kilometers from the banner government seat of Tian Shan Town. Nestled against mountains and by the water, it boasts enchanting scenery.

The park was constructed based on the Bayanhua Reservoir. Work on the reservoir began in October 1958 and was completed at the end of 1961 after three years of construction. It is a medium-sized reservoir primarily used for irrigation, with additional functions for flood control and fish farming. It is an artificial lake formed by damming the Oumulun River against the mountain. The reservoir has a main dam and an auxiliary dam. The main dam is flanked by steep peaks, and the normal water surface covers more than 5,000 acres, with a total storage capacity of 34.12 million cubic meters.

Located deep in the grassland, the park is like a “bright mirror” embedded in the emerald wilderness. On the southern side, a grand embankment stretches across the vast waters, which are broad and boundless. The surrounding area features lush grass, grazing herds of cattle and sheep, and galloping horses. On sunny days, pairs of waterfowl and flocks of wild ducks dot the lake, while clouds, peaks, and pine trees are reflected in the shimmering waters. Carp flash golden, silver carp glint silver, and the distant view offers breathtaking grassland scenery.

Relying on its water recreation offerings, the park provides activities such as rowboats, yachts, pedal boats, speedboats, and fishing. Visitors can enjoy the mountain and water views or cruise between sky and water. They can ride the waves to experience thrilling excitement or admire serene and elegant scenery in solitude. The park also offers clean and comfortable guest rooms, a small meeting room, a cold drink shop, and a karaoke dance hall, providing not only convenience for travelers’ rest but also accommodating small meetings.

After a day’s journey, visitors can step into white yurts to enjoy the melodious sounds of Mongolian horsehead fiddles, savor distinctive Mongolian cuisine such as “naturally roasted whole lamb,” and even join traditional Mongolian bonfire entertainment. The “natural whole fish feast” is a delicious dish made from locally caught carp, silver carp, crucian carp, Wuchang fish, and river crabs from the reservoir, and it is a renowned gourmet specialty.

The area is fully equipped with transportation and communication facilities, and includes restaurants, hotels, and shops. Travelers can hike mountains to enjoy nature’s scenery, go boating or fishing for leisure, or stroll across the grasslands to experience the unique Mongolian culture of the Horqin Grassland.
