Qiu Dongping’s Former Residence is a cultural tourism attraction.

Qiu Dongping’s Former Residence is located in Mafulan Village, Meilong Town, Haifeng County. Mafulan Village is a typical small southern village in Haifeng County, Guangdong, with around thirty households. Comrade Qiu Dongping spent his golden childhood here before later joining the agrarian movement led by Comrade Peng Pai.

Qiu Dongping (1910.5.16—1941.7.28), a modern writer originally named Qiu Tanyue, with the courtesy name Xizhen, was from Haifeng, Guangdong. His works exhibit the realist style of the July School writers, filled with a direct confrontation of life’s hardships and the human soul.

Qiu Dongping was born in 1910 into a merchant-farmer family in Mafulan Village, Meilong, Haifeng County, Shanwei City, Guangdong Province. His youth was spent amid the surging currents of the Great Revolution.
