Zhaogong Wanlong Hot Spring

Zhaogong Wanlong Hot Spring is located at the foot of Baishandi Mountain on the eastern side of Lotus Mountain’s main peak, about 5 kilometers from Lotus Mountain Town. It neighbors Jiming Temple, the Foreign Merchants Activity Center, and Yunlian Temple. The scenic area features an ecological agricultural sightseeing garden and lies at the heart of the Lotus Mountain Forest Park.

Wanlong Road, historically known as Shatianling Road, stretches approximately 10 kilometers and was one of the ancient post roads leading to Huizhou Prefecture. Along the way, “the road winds through deep folds amid misty, towering trees, with flying springs striking rocks and sending up spray like thundering snow.”

Every year around spring and summer, the wild trees burst into bloom, orioles flit among the grass, creating highly attractive natural scenery. Ding Richang, a renowned poet of the late Qing Dynasty, once passed through this area and left behind a poem that reads: “The porter gathers his remaining courage, hoisting me up to the clouds. A secluded path, dense with pine shade...”

“Lofty peaks chill with solar breath; by the roadside deer appear, and forested hills rise before the eye. I’m tempted to call out to Heaven’s Gate, and ride the wind on a purple phoenix.”

The hot spring lies beside the picturesque Wanlong Road. The general water temperature is 42°C, with a daily well output of 300/d and pumping capacity of 14m per hour;

some waters reach temperatures of 60°C—

70°C, with a daily well output of 600/d and a pumping capacity of 28m per hour.

The water is crystal clear, steaming with heat, and contains a variety of mineral components beneficial to the human body, such as sodium, potassium, calcium, silicates, and oxygen, along with a faint smell of sulfur. It has proven therapeutic effects for conditions like skin diseases, arthritis, rheumatism, and sciatica, while also providing health-strengthening, beautifying, and physiotherapeutic benefits. Bathing here helps promote blood circulation, relaxes muscles and joints, relieves fatigue, and invigorates the spirit. It is truly a premier destination for sightseeing, vacationing, and leisure.

Through careful design and planning, the current area of the Zhaogong Wanlong Hot Spring Recuperation Zone spans 300 acres.

Service offerings include: hot spring bathing, fitness and physiotherapy, lodging, gourmet dining, tea ceremony and coffee, karaoke and dancing, water recreation, public swimming pools with both hot and cold water, conference facilities, banquet gatherings, tennis courts, skating rinks, fishing, and garden cinema, among others. As the project expands further, the hot spring zone will be enlarged in phases, with the construction plan divided into five phases, each lasting two years. The first phase of the project was completed and put into use by the end of 2002.
