Haifeng County Museum

The Haifeng County Museum (HaiFengCountyMuseum) is located on Renmin West Road in Haifeng County, Shanwei City, Guangdong Province. Established in 1985, it is under the administration of the Haifeng County Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television, Press, and Publication. By the end of 2009, the new museum site was officially opened to the public with exhibitions and free admission. The new site covers an area of 1,820 square meters, with a construction area of approximately 1,500 square meters. It is situated west of the Red Palace and Red Square—both national key cultural relics protection units—and together with the Cultural Center and Library, forms the “Three Museums” of Haifeng Cultural City. The museum receives about 100,000 visitors annually, including around 68,000 young people.

The first floor of the Haifeng County Museum houses a temporary exhibition hall, which serves as an important venue for hosting temporary exhibitions and educational activities. The second floor features the permanent exhibition "Memories of Haifeng’s History," covering four themes: ancient civilization, historical development, modern events, and folk arts and crafts. Through artifacts unearthed in Haifeng, historical photographs, scene reconstructions, and text descriptions, the exhibition showcases over 5,000 years of historical changes and cultural progress in Haifeng.

The Haifeng County Museum houses nearly 200 national third-grade or above cultural relics, as listed in the "Catalogue of Precious Cultural Relics of Haifeng County Museum." The permanent exhibition "Memories of Haifeng’s History" displays nearly 120 cultural relics, while the "Haifeng County Museum Ming and Qing Dynasty Porcelain Exhibition" features 43 pieces of porcelain from the Ming and Qing dynasties.

On March 25, 2013, the Haifeng County Museum was recognized by the Guangdong Provincial Department of Environmental Protection as one of the "Second Batch of Guangdong Provincial Environmental Education Bases for 2012."
