Huizhou Zhongshan Park

Huizhou Zhongshan Park is a cultural relic protection unit of Huizhou City.

Huizhou Zhongshan Park in Guangdong (originally named Huizhou First Park) is located on Muyu Mountain in Huizhou City. The entire park faces south and covers an area of 30,000 square meters. It was established in the 1920s. In October of the 14th year of the Republic of China (1925), the Eastern Expeditionary Army during the Northern Expedition captured Huizhou. Chiang Kai-shek, [redacted], and Soviet advisor Rogachev held a grand military-political assembly and a memorial service for fallen soldiers in the square in front of the "Wangye Pavilion" on the right side of the park. In the 17th year of the Republic of China (1928), it was renamed "Zhongshan Park" in honor of Dr. Sun Yat-sen. In the 27th year of the Republic of China (1938), the "Zhongshan Memorial Hall" was built at the northern end of the park. In 1987, a full-body bronze statue of Dr. Sun Yat-sen was erected to commemorate the 120th anniversary of his birth. Other structures include the "Liao Zhongkai Memorial Monument" and the "Old City Wall Ruins." The park is a cultural relic protection unit of Huizhou City.

Sun Yat-sen (1866–1925), also known as Wen, with the courtesy name Zaiyi, literary names Risun and Yixian, childhood name Dixiang, alias Zhongshanqiao, often went by the name Zhongshan.
