Egret Lake Scenic Area

The Egret Lake Scenic Tourism Resort is situated in the northeastern part of Huicheng District, spanning about 1,077 hectares (16,155 mu), with a lake area of 270 hectares (4,065 mu). Originally known as Jiaodong Reservoir, Egret Lake came into being after water management works were carried out on a natural lake. The area features verdant mountains encircling the lake, with meandering blue waters, numerous bays and inlets along the shoreline, and many small islands scattered across the lake—making the landscape truly first-class. As the surrounding areas have remained largely undeveloped with minimal human activities such as farming or logging, the lake is free from pollution, boasting clear waters and a well-preserved natural ecological environment. Each year, the lake attracts large numbers of migratory birds that come to overwinter and feed. Among the misty waters, flocks of egrets are often seen soaring, hence the name "Egret Lake."

With a total construction investment of around 2.6 billion yuan, the Egret Lake Scenic Area primarily focuses on natural eco-tourism. Its development goal is to become a world-class tourist resort that aligns with the mainstream of the international tourism market.
