Huizhou Gymnasium

Huizhou Gymnasium, also known as Jiangbei Gymnasium, is located in Jiangbei, Huizhou City, Guangdong Province. It is a comprehensive, multi-functional modern sports facility invested in by the Huizhou Municipal Government with 250 million RMB. The gymnasium is a landmark building of the city. Construction began on November 23, 2001, and it was completed and put into use on February 8, 2004. Covering an area of 150,000 square meters, with a total construction area of 32,000 square meters, it includes the main arena, training hall, conference center, commercial service area, and parking facilities. The design follows the scheme created by the Architectural Design and Research Institute of Harbin Institute of Technology.

The main arena features a steel space frame with a maximum longitudinal span of 112 meters and a transverse span of 126 meters. It accommodates 6,620 seats and is equipped with top-tier lighting, sound systems, high-tech electronic screens, central air conditioning, intelligent networking, international-standard wooden flooring, retractable movable stands, and seating. These facilities provide excellent conditions for large-scale sports competitions, concerts, and exhibitions. The auxiliary arena offers comprehensive supporting facilities such as fitness training, tennis courts, a conference center, commercial exhibition spaces, and leisure and entertainment services.

The gymnasium environment reflects green and eco-friendly concepts, with a green coverage rate of 60%. The harmonious and ingenious design blends the grand architecture with a beautiful ecological environment. The entrance plaza offers wide, open views; on both sides, large semi-leaf-shaped musical fountains complement each other; a connected green courtyard lies between the main and auxiliary arenas; and the surrounding area of nearly 80,000 square meters is filled with trees, shrubs, flowers, garden paths, forming an open park.
