Huizhou Sports Talent Training Base

The Huizhou Sports Talent Training Base is located south of the city center stadium and integrates with it, making it the largest sports facility in Huizhou. The project covers a total land area of approximately 210,000 square meters, with a total construction area of about 48,700 square meters and a total investment of around 300 million yuan. The project utilizes rubber dams to create a natural lake, which not only enhances the environment but also serves as a training venue for water sports (such as canoeing and kayaking). Its design concept harmonizes with and closely complements that of the city center stadium, creating an extended and cohesive landscape effect.

Construction of the project commenced on July 6, 2007, and was completed on September 29, 2009 (excluding the aquatics and diving hall), with the complete relocation of the city’s sports school achieved by February 2010.

The base serves as a cradle for nurturing athletic talent in Huizhou and is constructed and managed according to the operational model of a secondary-level sports school. The base’s short-term development plan accommodates 1,200 students, while the medium- to long-term plan envisions 2,200 students, with about 60,000 square meters of educational land reserved. It is divided into an athletes’ training zone, administrative office zone, teaching zone, and living zone. Facilities include the land training hall (which contains an indoor sports arena, ball games hall, gymnastics hall, combat sports hall, and indoor shooting range), aquatics training hall (swimming and diving hall), administrative and teaching building (which includes the administration building, teaching building, and research building), student dormitories (No. 1, No. 2, and No. 3), library, canteen, and central pergola.
