Gaobang Mountain

Gaobang Mountain is located within the Honghua Lake and West Lake scenic areas, with an elevation of 229 meters. It is the highest peak in the northern part of the Honghua Lake Scenic Area, often referred to as Huizhou’s Baiyun Mountain, and serves as an urban forest park within the city of Huizhou. Originally named Guabang Mountain, its name implies “hanging high and aspiring to success” – a symbol of academic achievement. Gaobang Mountain boasts dense vegetation, predominantly featuring native tree species, and is classified as an ecological scenic forest. The mountain is now home to a newly built television transmission tower, as well as a cluster of bunkers from the Republican era and the tomb of Chen Jiu (Gaobang Mountain Fengqi Cave). Nearby are the tombs of Jiang Fengchen and Chen Jiongming (Ziwei Mountain) and the tomb of Yang Kunru (near Luoshan).
