Tomb of Chen Jiongming

The Tomb of Chen Jiongming is a Guangdong Provincial Cultural Relics Protection Unit.

The Tomb of Chen Jiongming is located on Ziwei Mountain in Huizhou, Guangdong Province. It was destroyed during the Cultural Revolution but has since been restored. The tomb features a pavilion-style structure from the Republican era, with a gravestone approximately 3 meters high overlooking West Lake. The inscription on the stone was personally handwritten by the eminent scholar Zhang Taiyan. Despite enduring years of weathering, the main structure of the tomb remains intact. In 1990, it was listed as a municipal cultural relic protection unit by the Huizhou Municipal Government.

In respect for history, in April 2012, the Huizhou government allocated 21 million RMB to renovate the Tomb of Chen Jiongming. The tomb complex covers an area of approximately 7,754 square meters. In addition to restoring Chen Jiongming’s grave mound and the memorial pavilion, the project also reinstated the plaza in front of the tomb, along with the exhibition room, management office, and sculpture platform within the site.

In 2015, it was designated as a Guangdong Provincial Cultural Relics Protection Unit by the People’s Government of Guangdong Province.
