Huangwu Ancient Village

Huangwu Ancient Village (Huangwu Village, Tonghu Town) is under the jurisdiction of Tonghu Town in Zhongkai High-Tech Zone. It is located in the central southern part of Tonghu Town, adjacent to Tonghu Wetland. The village was established around 1522 in the late Ming Dynasty, making it approximately 490 years old. Today, over 500 residential buildings from the Ming and Qing dynasties remain in the village, covering an area of about 30,000 square meters. The village also features ancient stone alleyways stretching over 2,000 meters.

Walking along a winding cement village road that leads down to large bluestone slabs beneath your feet, a roughly two-meter-wide path meanders downward. The exploration of Huangwu Village begins here. The green brick walls of the old study hall, weathered by time, still retain a profound historical charm.

Today, many of the old houses in Huangwu Village have endured over 400 years of wind and rain erosion. Some rooftops have collapsed and walls are faded. However, the bluestone paths remain solid and enduring, bearing the footsteps of generations who have lived here.

It covers a jurisdictional area of 7.6 square kilometers, governs 2 villager groups, and has a total population of 1,683 (excluding non-native residents), with 390 households. The total length of roads in the village is 13 kilometers, of which 8.19 kilometers are hardened, achieving a paving rate of 63%. All main village roads are hardened, and the Junken Interchange runs through the village. The Huangwu exit of the Bose-Shenzhen Expressway is right at the village entrance, providing very convenient transportation.
