Pinghai South Gate Bay is located in Pinghai Town, Huidong County, approximately 53 kilometers from the county seat, Pingshan Town. It lies on the eastern shore of Daya Bay, stretching 6.5 kilometers in length and 3.5 kilometers in width, covering an area of 22.8 square kilometers. The bay boasts a vast vista, a wide beach, and crystal-clear white sands. Adjacent to the bay is the boundless South China Sea. Known as the “Heavenly White Gold Dyke,” the crescent-shaped beach extends over 10 li, with snow-white, fine, soft, and level sands. The seabed slopes gently, with water depth not exceeding 1.5 meters within nearly 100 meters from the shore. The water is a clear azure blue with gentle waves, offering visibility to the bottom with no rocks in sight. The powerful waves make it an excellent natural swimming spot. Many visitors have praised its natural environment, saying it can rival world-famous tourist destinations like “Hawaii.”

About one kilometer away from South Gate Bay lies the renowned historical and cultural town in Guangdong Province—Pinghai Ancient City, making it an ideal destination for sightseeing and vacationing. For the convenience of travelers, there are direct shuttle buses between Pinghai and Pingshan Town, the county seat of Huidong.

Transportation

Starting from downtown Huizhou, head in the direction of Shantou along the Guangzhou-Shanwei Highway. Pass through Pingshan Town, Huidong County, and Renshan, then turn toward Pinghai and Gangkou at Dabutun. Once in Pinghai Town, continue along the street opposite the town government until you reach South Gate Bay. The total distance is about 90 kilometers.
