Yanzhou Mangrove Reserve

The Yanzhou Mangrove Reserve is located near Baisha Village in Huangbu Town, Huidong County, covering an area of approximately 71,369 square meters. It primarily protects coastal mangrove wetlands and migratory birds. The mangroves remain lush all year round, with their intertwined roots helping to prevent wind erosion and stabilize sand, while also providing an ideal habitat for fish, shrimp, crabs, and various bird species.

Every day, three to five thousand migratory birds are active in the mangroves. At sunset, herons that have been foraging in the beach marshes take flight with their long necks tucked in, soaring above the mangroves. After circling a few times, they return to the mangrove forest. The sight of hundreds of birds returning to their nests is majestic and spectacular. The mangroves, together with the blue sea, clear sky, and white egrets, create a serene and peaceful landscape.

Transportation: Traveling from Huizhou toward Shantou on G324, turn toward Pinghai at Daputun in Huidong, then cross the sea via the bridge in Tieyong Town to reach Yanzhou Island; alternatively, take G324 to Xiakeng in Huangbu Town and cross to Yanzhou Island by ferry.
