Attraction Introduction

The Tin Hau Temple is located within the Xunliao Bay Tourist Resort in Huizhou. It was first built in the late Qing Dynasty and has a history of over 400 years. After later restoration, this two-story temple now stands grand and majestic, with a constant flow of incense.

Mazu is a highly revered folk deity along coastal areas. Legend has it that whenever someone is in danger at sea, Mazu will appear to save them. The Tin Hau Temple is not very large, and most visitors come here to pray for blessings or to admire this ancient temple and learn about the Mazu culture of the people of Huizhou. The historical and cultural commercial street where the temple is located features many specialty goods, and there is also a food street nearby—both are worthwhile spots to explore.

Transportation

Purchase a ticket at the bus station. The fare is 17 or 18 yuan, and the ride takes about 45 minutes. Get off at the Tin Hau Temple intersection.
