Huangshatang Gaqiao

Huangshatang Gaqiao is a cultural relic protection unit of Guangdong Province.

Huangshatang Gaqiao is located in Huangshatang Village, Tantang Administrative Village, Baihua Town, Huidong County. Originally built during the Qing Dynasty, it is a four-arch flat-beam stone bridge made of bluish-gray granite, spanning both banks of the Huangshatang Drainage Channel. The bridge runs from southeast to northwest, with a total length of 21.57 meters and a width of 0.8 meters. The bridge piers are composed of two sets, each made with two upright rectangular stone pillars, with the upper ends tenoned together with a stone slab. Between the two upright pillars of each set, two horizontally placed square stones are used as beams, also tenoned together, to enhance the stability of the piers. The bridge deck is formed by placing three stone slabs side by side, each 0.26 meters wide, 0.18 meters thick, and varying in length between 4.72 and 6 meters. The bridge deck is approximately 3.8 meters above the water surface.

In 2012, the People’s Government of Guangdong Province listed it as part of the seventh batch of cultural relic protection units of Guangdong Province.
