Bashan Mountain Tourist Resort is located 36 kilometers southwest of the county seat, situated in the high-altitude cold mountainous area of the central section of the Lotus Mountain Range, with elevations ranging from 600 to 1,277 meters. The area features overlapping peaks, steep cliffs, deep valleys, fresh air, and misty surroundings. With an average annual temperature of 18.7°C, it serves as a natural summer retreat. The resort also has a mid-sized reservoir known as “Heavenly Lake,” often referred to as “a calm lake emerging from high gorges.” Surrounded by green mountains and dotted with rippling blue waters, the lake presents picturesque scenery. Bashan Mountain Tourist Resort not only boasts unique terrain and enchanting landscapes but is also an ideal destination for red tourism and science-themed travel. The site of the “First Congress of the Dongjiang Workers’, Peasants’ and Soldiers’ Deputies,” a provincial-level cultural relic protection unit, is located within the resort. The 450-square-meter memorial hall showcases the great achievements of the pioneers. The main peak of Bashan Mountain, Hongtufeng, stands tall with several uniquely designed iron towers over 70 meters high. These towers are equipped with antennas of various sizes, specifications, and functions, forming the Eastern Guangdong TV High-Frequency Broadcasting Station, which transmits radio, television, microwave, and communication signals across an area of approximately 30,000 square kilometers. With a total investment of 80 million yuan, the resort has developed a range of tourism projects including the Heavenly Lake Summer Resort, Heavenly Lake Fairy Island Entertainment Center, Heavenly Lake Water Recreation Area, alpine horse racing field, hunting ground, and paintball battlefield. It is set to become a comprehensive resort integrating vacationing, entertainment, revolutionary tradition education, and science-themed tourism.
