The Huanghua Village rural tourism area is located in the northeastern part of Fengshun County, Guangdong Province, 80 kilometers from the county seat and 55 kilometers from Meizhou City. The village has a population of over 1,100 and boasts more than 30 experts and professors, truly earning its title as a "Village of Professors." Covering an area of 1.5 square kilometers, Huanghua Village is surrounded by mountains on all sides, with competing peaks, encircled by mountain ranges, abundant woodlands, crystal-clear streams, swaying ancient trees, distant hills in soft hues, and layers of forest in vibrant colors. The Hakka-style houses in the village are built along the mountains and waters, arranged in a scattered yet well-organized layout. The entire village, with its ancient trees, dwellings, streams, and small bridges, forms a picturesque pastoral scenery typical of a Hakka mountain village. Major attractions in the village include: the former residence of Academician Li Guoping, Hakka-style residential buildings, the primitive forest park, the ecological beauty at the water outlet, and the Huanghua Heavenly Lake. The area is rich in tourism resources such as mountains, water bodies, and forests. The over 300-year-old primitive forest park has well-preserved vegetation, featuring winding paths through serene surroundings, exotic flowers and trees, towering ancient trees, and clear flowing streams, offering a uniquely beautiful landscape.

In recent years, Huanghua Village has guided local residents to adjust their agricultural industrial structure by developing specialty agricultural products such as rapeseed flowers, daylilies, Shuanghua plums, and bananas. This has resulted in fragrant flowers and fruitful orchards throughout the year, creating a beautiful pastoral view. To make full use of Huanghua Village’s unique natural and cultural landscapes and to provide local farmers with more pathways to prosperity, the village’s rural tourism initiative was officially launched on September 29, 2007, under the high attention of the higher-level tourism authorities and the Fengshun County Party Committee and County Government. With the theme of "experiencing natural pastoral scenery and promoting sports and health," the focus is on eco-agricultural sightseeing and natural pastoral tourism, centered around an experiential rural tourism model that includes "eating farm food, doing farm work, enjoying farm scenery, and staying in farmhouses." This has attracted a large number of visitors from both within and outside the county, especially self-driving tourists from the Chaoshan region. Attractions such as the Academician’s Former Residence, Hakka-style residential buildings, and the Primitive Forest Park have been bustling with visitors, leaving a deep impression on them. At the same time, it has boosted the sales of agricultural and sideline products for nearly 10,000 people in surrounding villages and increased local farmers’ incomes, making it a key project of rural tourism in Meizhou City.
