Former Site of the CPC Dongjiang Special Committee Party Congress

The former site of the CPC Dongjiang Special Committee Party Congress is a cultural relic protection unit of Fengshun County.

The former site of the CPC Dongjiang Special Committee Party Congress is located in Banhanghu Village, Te'yanxianpian, Fengshun County. Originally the residence of Hu Zhongwen, a local villager, the building faces north and features a two-courtyard, two-wing earthen-and-wood structure with 15 rooms. It has a spacious entrance courtyard and covers an area of 621 square meters.

From June 18 to 25, 1929, the CPC Dongjiang Special Committee held its Second Party Congress in Banhanghu Village, Huangjingban, where 23 delegates from 11 counties in the Dongjiang region participated. The congress re-elected the leadership of the Dongjiang Special Committee, selecting Lu Ji as the committee secretary, Du Shizhe as the deputy secretary, and Gu Dacun as the secretary of the review committee. The standing committee consisted of nine members: Lu Ji (also serving as secretary), Du Shizhe (also serving as deputy secretary), Lin Guoying, and supplementary members He Zundao, Yan Hanzhang, and Li Mingguang. The Dongjiang Revolutionary Committee was also established during this meeting. The congress implemented the directives of the Sixth National Congress of the CPC and the Second Expanded Provincial Committee Meeting, assessing the combat effectiveness of party organizations across Dongjiang counties. On August 1, the CPC Dongjiang Special Committee communicated the spirit of the Second Party Congress to all levels of party organizations. In early September, Gu Dacun was appointed as a member of the standing committee and secretary of the Dongjiang Special Committee Military Affairs Commission.
