The former residence of Li Jianzhen is a Guangdong Provincial Cultural Relics Protection Unit.

The former residence of Li Jianzhen is located in Jiaotouwo, Jingshuang Village, Huangjin Town, Fengshun County, Meizhou City, Guangdong Province. It has been designated as part of the Seventh Batch of Guangdong Provincial Cultural Relics Protection Units by the People’s Government of Guangdong Province, and was listed as one of the “First Batch of Guangdong Red Tourism Classic Sites” in 2005.

The former residence of Li Jianzhen is the cradle where Li Jianzhen, a famous pioneer of China’s women’s movement and a national heroine, grew up, received her education, and engaged in revolutionary activities. She lived here in Jiaotouwo for over 20 years. This site remains an undeveloped gem in Guangdong Province, boasting both significant cultural and natural landscape value — often referred to as a hidden “Little Jiuzhaigou.” The residence faces east and is built with earthen bricks, covering an area of over 500 square meters. It consists of a “single-pillar gatehouse” and two wing rooms on either side known as “lockhead houses.” Inside, some of Li Jianzhen’s personal belongings and two family letters are preserved. Below the courtyard is an ancient well with sweet, refreshing water that flows year-round. Next to the well stands a century-old camellia oleifera tree planted by Li Jianzhen herself, which still thrives today. On the hillside along the ancient village path leading from the residence to Huangjin, there are century-old sandalwood trees. In May 1926, when Peng Pai came to Jiaotouwo to promote the revolution, it was here that Li Jianzhen kept watch.

In 2012, it was announced by the People’s Government of Guangdong Province as part of the Seventh Batch of Guangdong Provincial Cultural Relics Protection Units.

Jingshuang Village: Located in the southern part of Huangjin Town, Fengshun County, Meizhou City, Jingshuang Village governs 24 villager groups, with 321 registered households and a population of 1,652.
