Carriage Museum

The Carriage Museum is located in the Citadel of Cairo, Egypt. The building housing the museum served as a British military canteen during the colonial period. Though the museum is not very large and its collection is not extensive, each carriage on display is a classic masterpiece, making the visit well worth your time.

The museum houses 8 royal carriages, each with its own fascinating story, allowing visitors to enjoy the carriages while also learning about their legendary tales. Some of the carriages were used to welcome kings and queens, including a magnificent golden carriage once used by Napoleon III, the French Emperor who served as ruler of Egypt. Among the most eye-catching displays is a black-and-red carriage, believed to have been used by a certain king. Additionally, the exhibition features carriages used by foreign royalty who visited Egypt for the inauguration of the Suez Canal. Also on display is the carriage used by King Fuad I of Egypt during his private travels.
