Chobe National Park

Chobe National Park is situated in northern Botswana, bordering Namibia across the Zambezi River. Established in 1920, it initially served as a hunting ground for colonists in the Bechuanaland Protectorate. In 1971, the Botswana government officially declared the area a national park. Spanning 11,000 square kilometers, the park features wide, clear rivers with lush trees reflected in the water and abundant aquatic vegetation. Countless birds and animals such as ospreys, storks, lions, antelopes, giraffes, elephants, monkeys, buffaloes, hippos, and crocodiles inhabit or roam the area. The park largely preserves its pristine natural state. U.S. President Bill Clinton visited the park during his trip to Botswana in 1998.
