Covering an area of 3,900 square kilometers, which accounts for about 20% of the Okavango Delta, the Moremi Game Reserve is located in the northeast of Maun in Botswana. It is widely recognized as one of the most representative reserves in Southern Africa and also one of the best-preserved areas for wildlife and the delta's environment.

The Moremi Game Reserve is considered one of the most beautiful reserves in Southern Africa and is the only part of the Okavango Delta that can be explored independently. Its geographical location is quite unique — it is surrounded by the delta’s swamps on the east, north, and west sides, but the interior of the reserve consists of dry land. The reserve features a diverse range of wildlife habitats, from woodlands and thorny thickets to dry savannahs, grasslands, floodplains, swamps, permanent waterways, lagoons, and islands. It is truly a paradise for wildlife, home to elephants, buffalo, giraffes, lions, leopards, cheetahs, wild dogs, hyenas, jackals, and various species of antelope including impala and tsessebe. In addition, there are over 400 species of birds.

There are four main large campsites within the Moremi Game Reserve, all well developed with essential facilities such as restrooms, picnic tables, and water pipelines. When driving in the reserve, it is recommended to use only four-wheel-drive vehicles due to the rugged and sandy terrain.
