Kalemegdan Fortress is both a fortress and a park, serving as the best witness to history and a landmark attraction and leisure destination in Belgrade. The main structure of Kalemegdan Fortress was built in the 17th century, but it also houses some medieval gates, Islamic-style tombs, and Turkish baths. Kalemegdan Fortress is divided into four parts: the Lower Town, the Upper Town, Little Kalemegdan, and Great Kalemegdan, each with its own unique features and high scenic value.

Built from massive stone blocks, Kalemegdan Fortress has undergone multiple renovations and expansions throughout history, with remnants of ancient Roman and Austro-Hungarian architectural styles still visible today. It was once an important military base, and remnants such as cannons can still be found in the park. Kalemegdan Fortress is also the most famous park in Serbia, renowned for its winding paths, shaded benches, picturesque outdoor fountains, lifelike statues, and magnificent historical architecture. It attracts countless visitors each year, who come not only to learn about its history but also to relax and immerse themselves in nature.
