What do wine tasting and art have to do with a vacation? Today (29th), a wine tasting event was held at a well-known resort hotel in Yangmei, Taoyuan, featuring live realistic paintings by Ukrainian artist Ivan Yehorov and COKA wines imported from Serbia. Even Feki, a food expert present at the event, praised the wine as absolutely stunning.

Located on the slopes of Yangmei, Dongsen Mountain Resort Hotel spans 35,000 ping of land and 600,000 ping of green space, and has long been known for its forest ecology and European-style architecture. Today, it further aims to attract travelers with a unique southern French-themed experience. The star of the wine tasting — COKA Winery from one of Serbia’s top ten wine-producing regions — boasts millennia-old winemaking techniques hailed as Serbia’s “national treasure wine.” Among its hundreds of wines, “Kastel” is the most favored by Asian palates.

Zheng, general manager of Watt Trade, the sole Taiwanese agent for COKA Winery, said that Taiwan is an outstanding wine-tasting hub where almost every wine from around the world can be found. However, Serbian wines have been avoided by distributors due to high import taxes. Zheng, who studied in Europe, had tasted countless wines but could never find the perfect one he was looking for until he tried COKA. He was left in awe. Zheng also noted that Asians prefer smooth-tasting wines, and after sampling all hundred varieties from COKA, he carefully selected the white wine “Kastel” to bring to Taiwan. Food expert Feki added, “This wine is truly different. The fruity aroma is very clear upon the first sip, yet it leaves a sweet aftertaste.”

Jiang Huiming, general manager of Dongsen Mountain Resort Hotel, stated that the resort's architecture resembles a European mountain town, featuring both modern and classical styles. Recently, it has also been promoting a southern France-themed marketing campaign. She believes that wine tasting used to be confined to urban areas, often giving off a rushed and stiff impression, but the serene environment of Dongsen Mountain Resort, available 365 days a year, is actually more suitable for wine appreciation. Jiang Huiming also mentioned that the hotel has distinctive features and should leverage them effectively. On the software side, it frequently offers guests new experiences, and in the future, it plans to incorporate unexpected elements such as music and cosmetics, and host related events to engage visitors. This will further enliven the brand image of “Dongsen = Fashion = Gourmet = Leisure,” ensuring guests continue to look forward to visiting Dongsen Mountain Resort and ultimately boosting return rates.
