Big news from Eurail ! France is back in the "Eurail Select Pass"

With France’s return to the "Eurail Select Pass", the Eurail 4-Country Pass will now offer 26 country options, including: France, Switzerland, Italy, Austria (including Liechtenstein), Benelux (the Netherlands / Belgium / Luxembourg), Ireland, Bulgaria, Serbia/Montenegro, Czech Republic, Norway, Denmark, Portugal, Finland, Romania, Sweden, Croatia/Slovenia, Germany, Spain, Greece, Hungary, Turkey, Slovakia. The selected countries must either share borders or have direct train or ferry connections. For example: Benelux, Germany, and Switzerland are three neighboring countries; Norway and Denmark have direct ferry services; Spain and Italy have direct ferry routes, so they count as adjacent countries, and you can add other adjacent countries as well.

 

Additionally, to simplify the ticket categories,starting April 1 this year, Eurail will cease selling the "Eurail 3-Country Select Pass" and the "Eurail 5-Country Select Pass". Travelers planning to visit Europe before the end of September this year should seize the limited-time opportunity before these options become unavailable.Train passes purchased before the end of March will remain valid until the end of September.

 

Also, several Eurail promotions are ending before the end of March, and those planning to travel in Europe in the second half of 2014 can take advantage of discounted fares during the promotional period. Promotions include: Eurostar (London – Paris – Brussels) at 30% off, TGV Lyria (Paris – Lausanne – Bern – Zurich – Basel – Geneva) at 30% off, and Thalys (Paris – Cologne / Amsterdam / Brussels) at 40% off. There are also bonuses such as extra 2, 3, or 5 days on the "Global Pass" (valid in 24 European countries) and 20% off the "France Rail Pass".
