Nikola Tesla Museum

The Nikola Tesla Museum is located in the city center of Serbia and was established in 1952 to commemorate Nikola Tesla. Nikola Tesla was a Serbian-American inventor, physicist, mechanical engineer, electrical engineer, and futurist. He is considered a major proponent of the commercialization of electricity and is best known for designing the modern alternating current (AC) electricity supply system.

The Nikola Tesla Museum is Serbia’s most important science museum, housing the personal belongings of the renowned scientist Nikola Tesla. It focuses on science and culture, collecting scientific artifacts, and preserving Tesla’s original engineering research for humanity. The museum possesses around 160,000 original documents and approximately 5,700 other items, including over 200 books and academic journals, more than 1,200 historical exhibits, over 1,500 photographs, and more than 1,000 prints. In addition, it features a rich collection of technical objects, instruments, and devices, offering visitors not only insight into Nikola Tesla himself but also into the fields he researched and the related scientific achievements.
