Čačak is located in the central-western part of Serbia, on the banks of the Morava River, 140 kilometers south of the capital city Belgrade. It serves as the administrative center of the Morava District and the capital of the Moravica Province. The city is the economic, cultural, and sports hub of the Morava District and is well-known for its archaeological discoveries and religious architecture.

The oldest archaeological finds near Čačak date back to the Stone Age. In addition, Bronze Age burial sites, ancient Roman agricultural tools, and handicrafts have been discovered, with the earliest Serbian cultural artifacts traced to the 10th century. The area surrounding Čačak is home to numerous churches and monasteries that have had a profound impact on the city’s culture and religion. According to statistics, there are over 20 religious buildings in the city today. Although some have suffered varying degrees of damage, many remain well-preserved, serving as brilliant cultural heritage. The most important church is the Church of the Ascension, and some monasteries even date back to the Middle Ages. Additionally, visitors can explore Roman baths, palaces, monuments, the Čačak National Museum, art galleries, and the Art House.
