National Museum of History of Bulgaria

The National Museum of History of Bulgaria is located in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria, and is the country's largest museum. It was established on May 5, 1973, but in order to commemorate the important milestone of Bulgaria’s 1300-year history, the museum did not hold its first exhibition until 1984.

The National Museum of History houses around 650,000 artifacts related to archaeology, fine arts, history, anthropology, and more. Although only about 10% of the collection is currently on display, most of them are representative pieces. Visitors can learn about the development and evolution of Bulgarian history, society, culture, and daily life through these exhibits. In addition, the museum also features a restaurant, a shop, and a souvenir store, where tourists can purchase unique items to bring back as small treasures for family and friends.
