Sofia, Jan. 29 (Reporter Xie Xuemin) — The Bulgarian National Tourism Agency will distribute 6,000 free ski passes to tourists to attract foreign visitors to enjoy winter snow sports in Bulgaria.
According to local media reports on the 29th, Krushkova, head of the Bulgarian National Tourism Agency, announced that Bulgaria will issue 6,000 free ski passes across three major ski resorts — Borovets, Bansko, and Pamporovo — to attract skiers from countries such as the UK and Russia, promoting Bulgaria’s winter ski tourism offerings.
These free ski passes cost nearly 1 million leva (approximately 1 USD = 1.5 leva). Of these, 3,500 free passes will be given to British tourists, 1,000 to Russian tourists, and the remaining passes will go to Bulgarian skiers.
Located in Southeast Europe, Bulgaria is home to several mountain ranges including the Stara Planina, Rhodope, Pirin, and Rila mountains, which host dozens of ski resorts of varying sizes. Due to their relatively affordable prices, these resorts attract a large number of skiing enthusiasts every winter.
