National Museum of Military History, Bulgaria
The National Museum of Military History in Bulgaria is a military museum situated in the capital city of Sofia. It is the third national museum in the country, after the National Archaeological Museum and the National Ethnographical Museum.
The museum was founded on August 1, 1914, and began trial operations on July 4, 1916. Covering a vast total area, it includes 5,000 square meters of indoor exhibition space and 40,000 square meters of outdoor exhibition space, making it one of the largest museums in Bulgaria. Over the years, the National Museum of Military History has continuously developed and expanded: it launched a scientific journal titled "Bulletin of the NMMH" in 1971; in 1989, the original exhibition halls were renovated, updated, and expanded in functionality... Today, the museum houses a collection of 1,000,000 items, vividly showcasing the military development history of Bulgaria and even all of Europe to visitors.
