Mogilev is located on the banks of the Dnieper River in eastern Belarus and is the country’s third-largest city as well as the capital of Mogilev Region. It is one of Belarus’s largest industrial hubs, with convenient transportation links. It lies 201 kilometers from Minsk and is connected by rail to cities such as Orsha, Osipovichi, Zhlobin, and Krichev.

Mogilev is a beautiful city in Europe, boasting a wealth of tourist attractions including bright architecture, sacred churches, and lovely parks. The most eye-catching landmark is the tall City Hall. Originally built in 1679, it is one of the finest examples of 17th-century Belarusian architecture. It endured wars and was damaged but was restored to its historical appearance by locals in 2008. The bronze female statue on its pedestal symbolizes victory and renewal, while the Eternal Flame commemorates those who gave their lives in the Civil War and World War II. In addition, the ancient six-column Holy Trinity Cathedral is another important landmark in Mogilev. Constructed between 1738 and 1752, the cathedral features Baroque style and is unique for its vibrant, epic frescoes.

In this ancient city, visitors will find many worthwhile sights, such as the Archbishop’s Palace dating back to the 1780s, the grand theater that blends Neo-Renaissance and Russian Revival styles, and the vast railway station square.
