Onion-domed buildings resemble a palette of colors — Six colorful churches in Russia

Most church buildings in Russia feature onion-shaped domes and are adorned with vibrant exteriors, exuding a strong Eastern Orthodox atmosphere. The 2018 FIFA World Cup was held in Russia, and football fans can visit these sites for a pilgrimage and plan a trip to explore foreign culture.

1. Saint Basil's Cathedral
Saint Basil's Cathedral, located on Red Square in Moscow, the capital of Russia, is an Eastern Orthodox church and is considered one of the representative symbols of Russia. The church complex consists of nine vibrantly colored towers, each varying in size and shape. Its design incorporates Byzantine elements, offering a different view from every angle.

2. Kremlin Complex
The Kremlin Complex serves as the administrative headquarters of the Russian Federation government and is also the official residence of the President of Russia. To the south, it overlooks the Moskva River; to the east, it borders Saint Basil's Cathedral and Red Square; and to the west, it faces Alexander Garden and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Within its surrounding walls are four palaces, four cathedrals, and nineteen towers, making it a masterpiece of Russian kremlin-style architecture.

3. Kazan Cathedral
Kazan Cathedral is an Eastern Orthodox church in Moscow. The original church was destroyed by Stalin in 1936, and the current structure was rebuilt in 1993. The cathedral is built with golden domes and red brick walls.

4. Cathedral of Christ the Saviour
The Cathedral of Christ the Saviour is the cathedral of the Patriarch of Moscow and all Rus', and is the tallest Eastern Orthodox church in the world, as well as one of the largest. It was built to give thanks to Christ the Savior for rescuing Russia from defeat and to commemorate the Russians who sacrificed their lives in war.
